A Loss For Words - Mount St. Joseph

How can you sit there in your room like a caged up refugee?
Barely alive and all worn out with the fake plastic trees.
Is it the only thing that makes you feel like life has meaning?
The scars are tattooed down your arms.

All we wait for is everything that used to matter.
Now all that’s left is our hope and battle scars.
All we wait for is everything that used to matter.
It’s too damn hard to watch you fall apart.

This year is going to be fantastic.

T in the Park is in 39 days I think, so excited to see Nicki and Flo. Just after T I’ll be going to see Kevin Bridges in Dunoon which will be fantastic - the room is tiny and I had a great time watching Bill Bailey there last week. There’s a couple of decent hardcore shows in Glasgow/Edinburgh over the summer which I might try and make it to, it’s been a while. Twitching Tongues, Agitator etc.

Then Hevy again, which will be brilliant. Although the clashes look rough at the moment I’m still so excited to see so many great bands and hang out with great people. Then seeing Balance and Composure and Seahaven again, fuck. So excited to see Set Your Goals another couple of times too. Paramore in Edinburgh (laugh all you want, band are fucking incredible) I haven’t seen them in years and I’ll always love them no shame. Saves the Day at King Tuts, such a good band in a tiny venue.

Then hopefully Me, Liam, Kim and Scot will be heading down to London for my birthday weekend for the La Dispute/Title Fight/MDAM and Joyce Manor shows. Then topped off with maybe a few A Loss For Words shows down south in October/November. I’m so excited, everything is wonderful.

All the best DJs are saving
The slowest song for last
When the dance is through
It’s me and you
Come on, would it really be so bad?
The things we think might be the same
But I won’t fight for more
Its just not me to wear it on my sleeve
Count on that for sure

I’m back from Gran Canaria, had a really great week.

What a beautiful part of the world.

#Me

But I was thinking, someone asked me what kept us going as a band, what our goal was, and I think the goal is for us to try to complete something, to meet some kind of end with this, because it always feels unfinished to us. And I think that does relate a lot to the maturity of the music. I feel like we’re climbing a ladder, but I don’t feel we’re at the top of it yet. When we do reach the top, it’ll probably be in some ways an end to what goes on, but I think there’s still a lot for us to explore as far as musicians and again while we’re more mature than we were, there’s still more to be achieved as far as the music goes.

I’m going on Holiday very early tomorrow to Gran Canaria.

So I won’t be on Tumblr until the 1st June (not that I use it much anyway)
